In the world of voice over the “Demo” is the equivalent of the resume in other businesses. Really, it’s way better then a resume because it allows us to know in much greater detail what you’re capable of. In my 22 years in the voice over business there are perhaps 3 or 4 occasions where I’ve ever asked an actor for a resume or been asked to provide one myself. The demo is how you introduce yourself and often how you book jobs. As a result there are only 2 types of demos. Those that are spectacular and those that are useless.
